Green Space Dark Skies

Hi readers, it’s Emily and William here and we have some great news! We will be taking part in a project called Green Space Dark Skies this June. It is a UK wide celebration of creativity in 2022, where over six months thousands of people will become Lumenators, carrying special lights at up to 20 secret locations during dusk and which will be filmed. We are going to the location in Dorset but because it’s secret we don’t know where it is, so that’s exciting too.

It sounds really good fun and something we have never done before. We feel privileged to be asked by the arts company Activate to take part and are excited about going. In fact we are bouncing off the walls!

Both of us think the environment is very important and we love that this is a great chance to showcase beautiful outside spaces across the UK. We love the idea of bringing art and the environment together because it makes things easier for people, especially us, to understand– bringing it alive. This is one of the reasons that we want to take part, because it’s inclusive and positive.

It will also be exciting because there will be lots of people we won’t know so we will hopefully get to meet new people. We are also happy to be going with our friends and supported from staff at People First Dorset.

We think Green Space Dark Skies is a great idea and hope you get to see it too, and that there will be more opportunities like this to interact in our beautiful environment.

We want to say thank you to all the people, at Activate, Walk the Plank and others who have come up with the idea and are working hard putting it together.
