Ideas for column

Hi readers, it’s Emily and William here talking about topics for our weekly column. This week we have been really struggling to come up with things to write about so we thought it would be a good idea to reach to the community of our readers, and see if you have any ideas about what we can write about.

Is there anything you would like to know about us? Or something you would like us to write about? We don’t always know what things you are interested in reading, and would love to know if there are subjects which you’re keen to hear our views on.

You can let us know either in the readers comments at the Echo or it may be easier to contact us directly via People First Dorset, by sending us an email or letter. You can find the contact details on the website www.peoplefirstdorset.org.uk

We were reflecting that over the last year we’ve talked quite a bit about the virus, and know there is only so much we can all take of that! We have also shared my (Emily’s) continuing experience of moving out of the family home into shared accommodation, and while will continue to update you on that, we do also want to write about other things.

We’ve written over the years about everything from football, love, our favourite colours, abuse and sandwich fillings to comedy, music, health, work and much more. We think with so much going on in our lives right now (back to work for me William, and moving home for me Emily) our brains are struggling for ideas so please can you help us by sharing any ideas for columns you have? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

The writers of the Our View column are supported in their editing by The Friendship Club – a project for adults with learning disabilities, run by People First Dorset. Find out more at: www.peoplefirstdorset.org.uk/friendshipclub
