'Not Lost' Book

‘Not Lost’, the heartwarming book from People First Dorset members

Emily, Kerry and William collaborate with local illustrator Catherine Owen (aka Cat) to bring you “Not Lost’ a beautifully illustrated children’s book about Susie, the Dorchester Cat.

For the three writers, it feels exciting to be part of this, and they are extremely proud to be doing something so positive and that people seem to like. It’s made them feel more connected to the local community too. Even if sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming, it also feels like a warm inner smile. When the team overhear people talking about Susie or Not Lost, it’s hard to not butt in and talk to them!

Beautifully illustrated by Cool Cat (Catherine Owen), and co-written by Cat, Emily, Kerry and William, it’s a purr-fect tale for readers of all ages.

About Susie

Susie is an amazing cat in Dorchester, with her own Facebook page, and over 8000 followers! (see Susie’s Travels in Dorchester for daily posts of her adventures). We love how she, gently and graciously, brings people together with a welcome escape from the stress of daily life. It’s like she wants to remind us all of the importance of joy, connection, kindness, and simple pleasures.

“We think ‘Not Lost’ stands on its own merit, offering a warm, engaging and thought-provoking tale. Suitable for readers of all ages, regardless of its connection to this gorgeous, real-life cat or charity. Whether you're a fan of Susie, or simply want a delightful children's book, we highly recommend ‘Not Lost’. It's a charming tribute to a loved community cat, and a testament to the power of creativity and collaboration”.
“The illustrations are so heartfelt, a classic old-feel beauty.

With a little bit of cat-education thrown in along the way, coupled with proceeds benefitting a wonderful charity, this book deserves to be a brilliant success. Gentle, genuine and made me smile”.
