Christmas friends

Hi readers, it’s Emily, Kerry and William here this week, writing this in the build up to Christmas.

I, Emily, and my 3 housemates, have invited William to our house Christmas meal next week. We wanted to invite Kerry but our home isn’t wheelchair friendly, and she has a partner, whereas William is on his own.

We hope it’ll be a good evening, with lots of tasty food and games. We are cooking honey roast gammon and parsnips, sprouts, carrots, sweet mash, Yorkshire puddings and gravy! Lucy, our staff support, will help us prepare, as it’s a team effort. I go shopping on Tuesday with her, and we will slow roast the gammon on Wednesday.

I, William, will arrive at 6.30pm, and really appreciate that they have asked me to join them.

I, Kerry, asked about what games you might play. Well, I, Emily think we may play Uno, card games, throw the Burrito, or even Windy Knickers. If you don’t know it, it’s a silly game which is lots of fun. Basically, you have a washing line, and you throw a dice on your turn. If you get a tornado, you press a button, and the washing line will spin around and can blow all the clothes off the line. We may also play the yes or no game, which is always fun!

As for Christmas itself, we are all either spending time with family or close friends, though we will be thinking of those who are less fortunate, maybe alone, unwell or unhappy.

We hope that whatever Christmas you had, that you have started the year in a good place, and that it brings you much joy, peace, good health and prosperity. Wishing all the very best to all our readers.
