Not long until Christmas…

Hi readers, Emily and Kerry here talking kindness, and getting ready for Christmas.

I, Kerry, want to share my pantomime experience in Bournemouth. I’m in a wheelchair so need a disabled seat, which was close to the stage. That was great as I had a great view and loved the show.

I went by train with my partner Steve, which went smoothly too. Sometimes travelling is stressful, but today was easy, making a big difference to my day.

So did the small act of kindness I received on the train.  I’ve had a nasty cough, and eventually went to see my GP, as I also have asthma. They told me loads of people have this cough. It sounds bad, but isn’t contagious. Knowing that and feeling fine (just sounding bad), I went to the pantomime. I wondered if people may think I’m spreading germs and being irresponsible. Maybe I should wear a badge saying I’m not contagious!

On the way, a lady on the train heard me coughing. She then came over and gave me her bottle of water. That small act meant a lot to me.

As for me, Emily, I’m really looking forward to Christmas and spending time with my Mum, sibling and sister-in-law. We have the Christmas tree up, which I decorated with my housemate Debbie. Home just feels so warm and cosy. I’m with Mum’s on Christmas Day, and like how we eat our main meal first, then open presents, and finally have pudding. It lets the food go down a bit!

We hope your Christmas is ok, whether you are with family, friends or alone. To those of you who find Christmas difficult, we send you an extra big hug and good wishes. Take care everyone and see you next week!
