Another busy week

Hi readers, it’s Emily and Kerry here and hope you’re enjoying the sunshine. This week, it’s me Kerry, sharing a few things I’ve been up to over the last week.
While I’m still recruiting for a new support person, which is going well, work has been fairly busy with meetings where we make sure people with a learning disability get the right support, in all the ways needed – health, employment, digital, housing and much more!
On Friday I had a call from the Job Centre as part of a new government initiative. The lady I spoke to was very bubbly and friendly, and she seemed pleased to hear that I’m not only working, but also actively managing my own support staff.
I’ve also been keeping on top of my admin tasks. This week that meant quite a few phone calls and getting my to-do list organised. Having the right support in place for me makes that manageable. Without that support, I am not sure how I’d cope!
Over the weekend I went out for a walk to get some fresh air. While it was nice as it was lovely and quiet, it was much colder than I expected. It was good to come home for a hot drink, lunch, and a rest – which all helped me recharge after being out in the cold.
Sometimes it’s small things in the week that make the biggest difference, don’t you think?
For me, having such good support, connecting with my community, taking time to rest, and work that matters – all help me stay well and keep going. I’m always learning to get that balance of work, rest, and daily life in a way that works for me, I hope you are all doing well and finding time for things that help you feel good too.
