How Sam from You Trust Helped Me Land My Favourite Job Ever!

Hi readers, it’s Emily and Kerry here, and today it’s me Emily again talking about looking for work.

This can feel big and scary for anyone, but let me tell you, for disabled adults like me, it can feel twice as hard! So many people don’t understand what we can do -or worry about things that aren’t problems at all.

It can make us feel nervous, unsure and having to try extra hard just to be seen. Thanks to Sam at You Trust, that changed, making the work journey a lot easier. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her!

Sam did so much. Before interviews we looked at everything we needed to know about the job. We practised tricky questions and answers with mock interviews until I felt ready, prepared information about the workplace and more. It made things easier for when the real interview happened, and I felt more confident.

Best of all? Sam came along to every single interview with me. Having her there made it a lot easier, so she could break down the questions or reword them if I got stuck. She really helped me find my voice and be more confident. She always believes in me telling me, ‘you’ve got this girl’, even when I’m a bag of nerves and don’t believe in myself.

I am happy to say with Sam’s help and support, I managed to get this job. And it is honestly one of the best jobs I’ve ever had! I love it so much, look forward to going in every day, and feel happy, useful and proud of what I do.

I would 100% recommend You Trust to every disabled adult looking for work! They truly understand how tough it can be. Sam, you are a superstar!
