Emily is back from holiday!

Updated: Jul 22

Hi readers, it’s me, Emily here, finally back from my holiday and a few other things that have been going on. Thank you Kerry for covering while I have been off. Soon Kerry and I will meet up and be writing again together.

So, last month, I went on a big adventure! My mum and I stayed at my auntie and uncle's house. They were away in Peru, so we looked after their lovely home and garden. We even took our dogs with us, which was a lot of fun!

We drove up on a Sunday to miss the busy roads. We stopped for a yummy picnic in a park with woods. We had rolls, crisps, and a drink. The dogs loved walking around the woods. The drive took six hours because of a small detour, but we weren't in a rush. It was nice to finally get there.

On Monday, we stayed close to the house. We took the dogs for walks, and Mum went food shopping at Sainsbury's. It was good to relax and settle in.

Tuesday was exciting. We went to some old mills and a mine. At the mine, we had to wear helmets. It was a lead mine, and the guide told us all about the miners. It was very dark, and they only had candlelight! We had to watch our heads because some parts were very low, but it wasn't a problem for me.

Wednesday was a peaceful day. We walked along the Belper river – it was so quiet and lovely. Mum and I also had delicious ice cream sundaes, a real treat!

Next week I’ll tell you about the rest of my holiday. Now I’m back home, there is already lots going on here. We will update you about all that soon too!
