Emily’s Christmas

Hi readers, it’s me Emily here this week, talking about my Christmas.

Christmas is one of my favourite times of year because I get to spend it with the people I love. This year, I went home to Mum’s house for Christmas Day. My sibling and my sister-in-law came over, and we shared a delicious meal of nut roast, Christmas ham and all the trimmings. It was lovely sitting around the table, chatting and eating together.

After lunch, we had a happy, relaxed afternoon opening our presents, just like always, including our sacks from Santa. I was lucky and received many lovely gifts, including tickets to Sea City Museum in Southampton, which I’m so looking forward to. Mum surprised me with Boyzone tickets, which is beyond exciting!  My boyfriend bought me a beautiful handbag and purse, which I love.

For New Year, my boyfriend and I went to see SpongeBob at the cinema, which was fun. We then came back to mine for some party food, staying up until 2.30am to welcome the New Year!  I had pink gin with 7-Up, and my boyfriend had cider. At midnight, we celebrated with delicious Kylie Minogue non-alcoholic pink fizzy wine.

I ended up sleeping in my new armchair overnight, which I soon discovered is better for sitting than sleeping! We began New Year’s Day with bacon and sausage baps, then my friend Bev came over with her support worker. We made egg sandwiches and a trifle, before having a music quiz on YouTube. It was a fab day and we laughed a lot!

Now the Christmas tree and decorations are down, it feels like time to get back to normal and my job hunting. I’m happy to have such good memories to look back on.
