Swanage day out!

Hi everyone it’s just me, Kerry this week.

I’m writing this on the weekend and want to tell you about a day out I had last Monday. I went with my partner Steve and my support worker Lauren over to Swanage, and had a really lovely day. We talk about all sorts of things here, and today I just simply wanted to share how good it was to have a day out, and what I observed.

We began by having lunch in a town cafe. The food was very nice and filled us up, so that was good. After lunch, we took a walk around the town, then sat down on the promenade and watched people with their dogs on the beach. The dogs looked like they were having a great time, running up and down, jumping in the water. They seemed to be really enjoying themselves.

There were some elderly people sitting nearby, having an ice cream and relaxing. We could also see people enjoying afternoon tea, as they looked at boats in the water. One boat really caught people’s attention because it was bright orange and looked quite special. I thought it was a lifeboat at first, but it wasn’t. We noticed other people thinking the same.

It wouldn’t be right, being English and all that, not to mention the weather. Even that wasn’t too bad - sunny and warm, just right for a day out. It was lovely to see so many people around, looking happy as they enjoyed the fresh sea air, and the sunshine. I love days like this where I can relax and enjoy simple things. Swanage is a lovely place, and I hope to go back again soon. It was a perfect day, and I’m still feeling good today because of it.
